How to Draw Properly

How to Draw Properly

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit
So you're having a hard time putting pencil-to-paper? No problem! Help is on the way! Not only will this help you with your drawing skills, but also help you with the pencil skills! So get a sketchbook, or drawing pad, and lets get to work!

drawing properly

Steps

  1. Decide what you will draw. An abstract? A still-life? Think of something creative.
  2. Get all your art supplies. Crayons, chalk pastels, color pencils, oil pastels, sharpened pencils, erasers and rubbers, etc. Make sure everything is gathered and ready to start.
  3. Start your work! If you are drawing something simple like a vase, always make a thin line, then start the vase's shape.
  4. Be gentle. Don't press hard on the paper with an incredibly sharp pencil. It will make it easier to rub if you are gentle. When you're done with the masterpiece, you can make it darker.
  5. Make it look real! Do a proper sketch and over-do the lines a bit. If you are copying the picture from the internet then look at every inch of the picture. Okay, the corners are a bit edgy and the top of the vase is perfectly straight. Got all that? Okay, now draw it!
  6. Think clearly. Nobody can draw when they are feeling unhappy or angry, etc. It will ruin their work.
  7. Use art supplies carefully! Color inside the lines, or if you're using something with a knobby point like crayons or oil pastels, then color properly inside the shape.
  8. Try not to make a mess. Paints should be used with a soft brush.
  9. Be creative! To have more fun, use things like a soft toothbrush or a sponge dipped in paint. For more ideas, look for Art Attack.

Tips

  • When you are painting with a sponge or a toothbrush, make sure you know how to do it properly. If it's the first time for you, get some help from the internet or a older brother or sister.
  • Keep calm and patient. Otherwise, you'll never get the work done.
  • Draw something funny, cute or realistic. You want to make it look best as possible.
  • Put an old newspaper underneath your work to keep you from getting too messy.
  • Take your time
