Have you always had the passion to draw, but never had the right utensils to do it? Well, here, you can learn what to expect from a fine quality sketch pencil and how to choose one!
Steps
- Make a decision. Make sure you want to spend the money to buy sketch pencil kits. It's not an extreme loss if you buy them but don't want them. Pencils are pencils!
- Visit a craft store. Drive down to a craft store, such as Michael's or Jo-Anne's, where you can kind of view the different varieties of art supplies they have to offer.
- Check out some supplies. You want to buy some well known brand pencils, so try looking for something like "General" art supplies, or "Faber-Castell". Be sure to check the box's contents or ask the cashier/manager if you can sneak a peek at the box's contents to make sure your picking the right box.
- Get'em and Go! Once you've selected your pencils, try them out. Take out some paper and test their characteristics (durability, texture, strokes, appearance, etc.).
- Get to work! If you feel that you're comfortable working with your new supplies, start on some art so you can get the feel of your utensils!

- Try checking out some helpful books to start you out with some creative ideas on drawing.
- Have fun with your art!
